INTRODUCTION
            Regional Science Center & Planetarium, Calicut is one of the units of the National Council of  Science Museums (NCSM) Govt. of India. This Center and Planetarium is spread over an area of five acres of land in the heart of Calicut city. The Science Center is about to complete ten years of service to the people of Kerala. During this period with  active support from all corners the center could popularize Science with various activities.

      OBJECTIVE

             The main objective of the science center  and planetarium is to propagate the application of science , Technology & Astronomy among common man in general and the student  community in  particular by presenting various fascinating sections like Fun science, Life science, Science Park,  Children Activity Corner , Adult’s Activity  Hall, Planetarium shows etc.

              The gallery contains exhibits on various themes: Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Mathematics, etc. Here students and general public can interact with exhibits and understand various scientific themes.

               As you step inside, the Energy Ball welcomes you exhibiting changes of the energy into various forms,  an array of rolling balls move in circuitous path and perform acrobatics. There you ring bells, generate electricity and play musical chimeson their way. Parabolic reflectors carries whispers from one end of the park to other end. Objects float in space defying gravity. Chemistry brings magic at home. You can observe the skeleton mimicking your actions while you peddle the bicycle. Objects moving against gravity, music comes from siren, and chemistry brings magic- all these and various spectacular exhibits are present before you.

STATISTICS

          Since 1997, the center witnessed a gradual increment in the number of visitors visiting RSCC. The number of members also increased.
