2009
(Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Junior Science)
Regional Science Centre & Planetarium,
These examinations will be conducted nationwide by Indian
Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) in collaboration with Indian Association
of Chemistry Teachers (IACT) and Indian Association of Biology Teachers (IABT).
The Olympiad of Physics, Chemistry and Biology are of Class XII standard. The
Astronomy Olympiad is conducted in two levels and both are based on a good
understanding of ICSE syllabus and a general awareness of Astronomy.
This will ultimately lead to the participation for the
selected candidates, who will represent

Question
Pattern:
Physics
The questions in Physics are
divided into two parts. Part A consists of objective questions. Sub part A1 has
FOURTY Multiple Choice questions with 4 alternatives for each and only one of
them is correct. Sub part A2 has TEN Multiple Choice questions each having four
alternatives; but any number (1, 2, 3, or all 4) of these may be correct. All
the correct alternatives must be identified to get the full credit (i.e.
marks). Total 180 marks for part A.
The second part, Part B has
questions which are problems or short answer type. Total
120 marks for part B. The
medium of the questions will be ENGLISH.
(Chemistry /
Biology)
There will be 100 multiple choice
questions for 300 marks. The medium of the questions will be ENGLISH.
Astronomy
The question paper consists of
multiple choice questions. Sub part A1 has THIRTY questions showing four options
and only one of them is correct. Wrong answers will be given negative marks.
Sub part A2 has TEN questions with four options but has any number (1, 2, 3, or
all 4) of options may be correct. All the correct options must be marked to get
the full credit (i.e. marks). Total 150 marks. Question paper will be in English
only.
Junior Science Olympiad: questions
on physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics at class 10 standard.
